| “This manga starts with a girl walking alone in the rain. People around her have an umbrella but she doesn't so she can't cover herself from the rain, which is a representation of the obstacles we encounter during our lives. The girl's body is also full of scars representing the wounds left from those obstacles she's already faced. However, when she's faces loneliness in depression a friend comes and reaches out for her. The girl doesn't have an umbrella either but she decides to give her friend the only thing she has to protect the girl from the rain, her scarf. The meaning of the scene is that a true friend will always give you everything they can give to help you, in this way you can go through difficult times together. The scarf is the first communication tool I put in the story, the second is the gesture the girl does when telling her friend to smile.” | |
