| “We know that we're always making stories about people with special needs. But we want to insist on this kind of story when we can cause all of us have to look more to the needs of people around. If you look closer on this comic you can see an entire story happening without common people perceiving that a wonderful thing just happened. Here on Brazil the majority of people are catholic. I, Paulo, am not a religous person, but I like some stories from Jesus, and one of them was my inspiration for this comic, The Widow’s Offering and it says: Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts. But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a few cents. Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything—all she had to live on. That's exactly the message we wanted to express. It's not how much you give, but how much of what you give from your best. That's why even for short stories like this one(sorry for 39 pages on the last SMA ><) we have a need to give our all.” | |
