| “Aah, this is such a last minute entry! I hope I did well enough for my first SMA participation. I didn't have any inspiration for a long time, and I was about to give up, but then I remembered about Lord Katou Kiyomasa... In the end I decided to draw the event when Lord Kiyomasa renovated Kumamoto Castle. Based on the models and reconstructions it looks like the tenshu of the castle that we can see today isn't much different from the original. I'm really glad it was, haha. I'm a bit perfectionist when it comes to historical details, and it will make me cry if the real castle is completely different and I won't know how to draw it >___< Lord Kiyomasa is... kind of based on the face of the Kiyomasa performer from the Kumamoto bushotai (samurai team), hahaha. When I watch videos of him, he seems very full of excitement, and I think his character really suits the theme :P” | |
